Before you can take a driving test, you must have a completed “Own Declaration”.
All drivers on the road are responsible for their own safety and that of others. It is legally regulated that your mental and physical health may not be the reason that this safety can no longer be guaranteed. If you have a condition or limitation, you are not always allowed on the road. The CBR tries to decide on this by means of its own statement.
A self-declaration is a list of questions about your current physical and mental condition. If you do not fill in the self-declaration truthfully, you are punishable by law.
If the CBR considers that your health is not a problem for road safety, you can apply for the driving test. Your driving school can do this when you are ready. You must first give your driving school permission for this. You do this by authorizing your driving school:
1. Go to: mijn.cbr.nl
2. You can log in with your DigiD on the website of the CBR.
3. Click on Authorize Driving School and then on the 'Authorize Driving School' button.
4. Enter the driving school number given to you by your instructor.
5. Proceed to the next step and check the driving school details.
6. Click Authorize again.
7. You and your driving school will now receive an e-mail with a confirmation of the authorization.
